TimothyCallaghan - A Lovely Tremble
A Maria Neil Pop-Up Exhibition:
Friday, April 20th from 5:00-9:00pm
Saturday, April 21st and Sunday, April 22nd hours 12noon-5:00pm
April 20th - 22nd, 2018 at LaSalle Arts & Media Center
821 East 185th Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44119
"In the later half of 2016 I began a body of work with the intention of limiting myself to what could be found as source material on E. 185 Street, the street
I live off of in Cleveland, Ohio. The process began with working en plein air
in a large format sketchbook with walnut ink observing the landscapes I
could walk to from my home. After the initial ink drawing I would do one additional study based off the sketch that would become the working study
for a large gouache painting on paper. The process of observational painting and drawing have long been central to my practice as an artist. I use this
process on a daily basis to investigate the spaces I encounter and to further understand the relationships between space and place."
