About the Artist:
Cleveland native Jenniffer Omaitz is constantly transforming not only the mediums she works with, but also as an artist. From her large-scale sculptural work to her equally large-scale two-dimensional pieces, each emphasizes her desire to explore folds, gestures, and movements.
Exploring the physical and psychological effects of space, her work engages the viewer with a unique color palette and a visible depth of field. She explains of her paintings and drawings, "This series struggles to define beauty, exploring abstraction as incident and artifact of the process in which paint is applied, exposing interior and exterior spaces that may not coexist."
Jenniffer is a gradaute of the Cleveland Institute of Art (BFA in painting, '02) and of Kent State University (MFA in painting, '09). Her work is part of several public collections. Most recently her work can be seen at Gallery W at American Greetings, and you can find her in our booth at West 78th Street Studios *and* as part of the curated show for the CAN Triennial.
